Back to the grind, but New Orleans was fun!

It is good to be back in the city that I love! It is great to be able to go on vacation, relax, eat some yummy food, see some sites, spend time with friends or family, but after a while you start to get tired and a little homesick! Here is some of the stuff we did:

Walked down Bourbon Street

Enjoyed some delicious beignets and coffee at Cafe du Monde

Went to a Beautiful Wedding



Carriage ride and all!

Took a Swamp Tour and saw a big Alligator



And listened to some good Music

Overall we all had a wonderful time, and I would definitely go back in the future!

Unique Wedding Venue

I came across this old mansion located in the neighborhood of Logan Square in Chicago. It was built in the 1920's, and today is considered a historic landmark. It is now a popular place to hold a wedding, or any type of big social event like a New Years Party, or Bar Mitzvah. It appears to hold up to 300 people and would be a fun place if you had a band, since there is a big stage. They also have a big garden for outdoor wedding ceremonies, all very cute!

Sometimes on Friday you need a treat...

And that treat might just be some yummy, creamy Starbucks coffee! But what could be even more exciting is a Starbucks Proposal! I love me some starbucks, and what a creative way to incorporate a fetish, your first date story, and a romantic proposal! Now this boy really did some planning...

I have been to two weddings so far this year, with several more to come. My favorite part about going to all these ceremonies and receptions is to see all the dresses, flowers, decorations, and tiny details. The best weddings are mixed with creativity and simplicity, and above all making it about the bride and groom with their personal touches. I am not married, though some day I will do my best to keep a few traditions, but also make sure there is a lot of personal character throughout the event!

Let's go Jet Setting...

I feel as though this is the summer of destination weddings! I have been invited to 3 of them, and will end up going to only one. And I finally just booked the tickets, which means I am officially excited about it! Not to mention Southwest Airlines is having a 40th anniversary special, with $40 - $80 one way flights around the US! (Sale ends June 23rd)

The destination I am going to is some place I have never been, but always wanted to visit...New Orleans! (aka NOLA) It is not until the end of October, but I cannot hold my excitement!! I have been telling everyone, and showing them the beautiful venue it will be held at, Southern Oaks Plantation. I am so pumped to stay in the French Quarter, and walk around Borbon St.

It seems like destination weddings are the hot ticket right now, especially since you can combine your honeymoon and ceremony all in one, which can save some money. However, you need to make sure you closest friends and family are up for the vacation, as it does require more of a committment.

Here we go...

I've been wanting to write a blog for a long time now. It took me a while to decide what to call it, what I should write about and why. Though I still do not have all those answers I decided to go ahead and start it anyway! I want to write about things that inspire me, along with some things going on in my life here and there. This is a good place to share exciting things, stories and keep track of what is going on in my life! Now that I live in Chicago things continue to get exciting. I hope you keep coming back!

There is one thing that has come to an end in my life - this would be my sister's wedding planning! She finally got married this past weekend, and is now on her honeymoon in Hawaii. (So jealous!) She got engaged last October and since then it is all we have been talking about. Now I feel a little emptiness and need to either fill it or move on. Seeing as I have no other sisters and I do not plan to get married in the near future then I must move on. But first - I want to share a couple pictures! They used J+N Imagery for photography, which is an adorable couple who happens to be friends with my sister. They did a wonderful job and I cannot wait to see the rest of the pictures!!

They got married at Riverside Receptions in Geneva, Illinois. They did a beautiful job, unfortunately the weather did not hold up all day and we had to move the ceremony inside. Regardless it was a perfect wedding and we could not have wished for more! Now I can't wait for them to start having babies!
